TheCommunity.com was founded in 2001 by Mary Wald and Nobel Peace Prize laureate and President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta. It has successfully forwarded the messages of the Nobel Peace Prize laureates on critical issues in international media and other channels for more than two decades.

Twenty-eight Nobel Peace Prize laureates have been involved in projects on TheCommunity.com. Archbishop Desmond Tutu was the site’s active Human Rights Advisor for 14 years.

Creative Visions in Los Angeles (https://creativevisions.org) provides fiscal sponsorship and 501c3 (non-profit) status for the project.
